Good morning,A major break in the long-running DuBois city corruption scandal. Former staffer Roberta Shaffer has pleaded guilty in federal court to felony embezzlement and an unlawful transaction. Shaffer, along with ex-city manager John "Herm" Suplizio, was accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in public and nonprofit funds for personal credit card payments and vacations. Shaffer faces up to 20 years in prison and remains out on bond until her September sentencing.Meanwhile, a DuBois man is behind bars after an undercover drug bust. State Police in Punxsutawney arrested 44-year-old Jeffery Michael Bearer, accusing him of selling methamphetamine to an informant in a supermarket parking lot. Bearer is held in the Clearfield County Jail on $100,000 bail.And commuters should brace for major delays on Interstate 80.
